- Account information: your email address and display name.
- Profile information: optional profile photo and details.
- User-generated content: photos, captions, and star ratings shared to the community feed.
- Onboarding preferences: interests and lifestyle information used to personalise your daily challenges.
- Communications: messages you send us via email or in-app support.
b) Information collected automatically
- Usage data: screens visited, features used, challenge completion rates, streak data.
- Device information: device type, OS version, and app version.
- Push notification tokens: stored in our database to deliver your daily reminder. Never shared.
c) Third-party services
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage. Privacy Policy.
- Google Gemini AI — generates your personalised daily challenge using anonymised preferences (not your name or email). Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI Moderation API — screens user-uploaded content before it appears in the feed. Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your account.
- Generate and deliver a personalised daily kindness challenge.
- Display completed challenges and photos in the community feed (only content you choose to share).
- Track and display your kindness streak and progress.
- Send push notifications for your daily challenge reminder (only if you grant permission).
- Moderate user-generated content to keep the community safe and positive.
- Improve and develop the App and its features.
- Respond to support requests and enquiries.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: Supabase, Google, and OpenAI solely to operate the App.
- Community feed: content you choose to share is visible to other BeKinder users.
- Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect our rights or users.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger or acquisition, with prior notice to you.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
BeKinder is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us immediately if you believe a child has provided us with personal information.
7. Security
We use encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure cloud storage via Supabase, and row-level security on our database. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, via the App.
